#AsanasForGrowth Day 5: Strength- Arm Balances 💪🏼💪🏼
Arm balances are the entire reason why I started focusing on strength building yoga heavily in my practice. I would watch videos of @aloyoga girls doing these incredible arm balances and I wanted to be able to do them.
After breaking my back, arm balances and inversions seemed nearly impossible. T6 is located right in between the shoulder blades, and arm balances and inversions require quite a bit of “pinching” one could say, in that area.
In October of last year, I decided to switch up my practice from yin yoga to strength building yoga, and my world began to change. Slowly but surely, arm balances and inversions were becoming my game! They made me feel like I was flying. I was in love. I’m still constantly working on strength building exercises, trying to build the core and shoulder strength necessary for solid handstand holds. Any tips anyone out there has for me would be OM-MAZING. 💪🏼😍🙏🏼💫
