I graduated high school at 16 and began paying out of my own pocket to take philosophy classes at the community college nearby. I continued this for two and a half years, and I would love to share more of that part of myself with you all:
Politicians give wonderful persuasive speeches—
But does rhetoric equal wisdom?
Poets write beautiful words from inspiration.
Does inspiration equate to wisdom?
Craftsmen and artisans create beautiful jewelry, build us sturdy homes, and so much more—
But does episteme, a specific trade or applied knowledge equal wisdom? .
This idea that we collectively lack wisdom, but it is ALWAYS good for us to pursue it.
To always question EVERYTHING. “The unexamined life is not worth living.”
.
Socrates tried to always connect the three Wisdom- Virtue – “The Good Life”
Virtue protects our soul.
And improving our soul should always come before money, power or possessions.
Socrates believes that people truly cannot do evil things on purpose. They can only do evil when acting out of ignorance.
The evil-doer does these acts only when (a.) they do not know this is evil (b.) they think this evil is benefiting them.
Thus implying, if you know what is best for you, you will do that.
.
What do you think?
Do people make harmful decisions based out of ignorance?
Do you question what wisdom truly means? .
