Most of you know I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa at a young age,
trying to see my body as this unrealistic image of what I wanted it to be took a toll on me mentally.
I would look at myself and see this girl who weighed 140lbs (THIS IS A PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE WEIGHT) when in reality I actually weighed 95lbs and could count ever rib on my body.
I’m not talking about those cartoons where it shows a girl looking in the mirror and her reflection is 200lbs and she is 80lbs.
I’m talking, standing, look down at your toes, I thought all I could see was fat.
If I didn’t have a thigh gap, I didn’t deserve to eat.
Oh how the term “thinspo” harmed my generation and so many more… .

People have this idea that anorexia can be healed, that it can be fixed completely.
Maybe for some, but for myself and everyone else I’ve crossed paths with who has been diagnosed, it never actually goes away.
All of us have become our own best personal nurses and therapists.
We learn our own triggers.
We study our own minds.
We watch our reactions and our habits.
We create schedules and food diaries in order to stay alive and level.
We learn how to keep an awareness throughout EACH and EVERY one of our days that we absolutely must carry around with us or we lose that progress we worked so desperately to keep. .

If you have anorexia,
I want you to know you aren’t alone.
You are loved.
You have a beautiful body that wants you to give it nutrients and life.
You deserve to be healthy and happy.
I am here for you.
I love you. .
